Poseidon god of the ocean/sea

Did you know that Poseidon was married to noosa a sea nymph and that’s how Polyphemus the cyclops was created. He also had many more children such as Theseus, Pegasus, Triton, Otus, and Ephialtes

This is how horses were created: Driven by his love for Demeter Poseidon attempted to please the lady by creating the first horses it is said Poseidon struck his trident onto the solid ground and boom there were horses. But the plot did not work and Demeter did not love him.

Poseidon wanted more than the seas he wanted a city too. One day there was a new city and they wanted a patron god or goddess. Poseidon decided to try, but Athena wanted the city too! They decided that whoever had the best gift would become the patron god/goddess. poseidon went first he gave the city water! But it turned out it was salty sea water not drinking water! Athena gave them an olive tree it served many purposes. You can probably guess who won. It was Athena! They named the city Athens and the people were named Atheniens.

I really enjoyed reading your post this morning. I didn’t realize that Pegasus was created by Poseidon! I also learned that Poseidon was King Triton’s father. Does that mean that Ariel would need to call him Grandpa? Also, do you think that King Triton inherited his trident from Poseidon? You gave me lots to think about today!

Thank you for the interesting read, Zen Kids!
